QuickBooks Payroll Deal: 50% Off Your First 3 Months

Intuit's current offer halves the price of QuickBooks payroll plans for three months. Here is how to claim it and what you will pay at month four.

QuickBooks Payroll Deal: 50% Off Your First 3 Months

Intuit is running a promotion that takes half off QuickBooks payroll plans for the first three months of a new subscription. The deal is easy to claim, but the price you see first is not the price you will keep. Here is what the offer covers, how to activate it, and what to expect when the discount runs out.

What does the discount cover?

The promotion applies to new QuickBooks payroll subscriptions. Intuit takes 50% off the plan’s standard monthly price for the first three months, then billing moves to the full rate. The exact figure depends on the plan tier and any add-ons you select, so the number shown at checkout is the one that matters.

Whichever plan you pick, your employees get access to QuickBooks Workforce, the portal where they view their own pay stubs and year-end forms without help from you.

How do you claim the offer?

Intuit runs promotions like this on its own website. Choose a payroll plan on the vendor’s pricing page and the discount is typically applied at checkout before you pay. Read the order summary carefully. It should show the reduced price for three months and the standard monthly price after that. If the summary shows full price, the promotion has not applied, and it is worth pausing before you confirm.

Promotional pricing is generally aimed at new subscriptions, so an existing plan may not qualify.

What you will pay in month four

After the third month, billing returns to the plan’s standard rate automatically. That step-up is the most common surprise with introductory deals. Every promotion season we hear from readers who set up payroll, forgot the discount was temporary, and got a billing shock. Note the full price now, and set a reminder for the end of month three to decide whether the plan still earns its keep.

Check your first invoice

A promotion can fail to apply for dull reasons: a different plan selected at the last step, an excluded add-on, or an account that already exists. Your first invoice tells you the truth. Compare it against the checkout summary, and if the numbers do not match, sort it out before your first payroll run.

When payroll misbehaves after setup

New payroll subscriptions bring the usual teething problems: a bank feed that will not connect, direct deposit held for verification, or an employee who cannot sign in to Workforce. Most clear with a settings check. For anything that touches your company file or historical payroll data, we can help through our QuickBooks payroll support service. We work as an independent firm, with no access to your Intuit account or billing.

A quick checklist before you subscribe

Write down three numbers: the standard monthly price, the promotional price, and the cost of any add-ons you actually need. Keep the checkout summary and your first invoice. Put a reminder in your calendar for the week before the discount ends. Those records answer nearly every billing question an introductory deal can raise.
