QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024 Deal: One Year for $299.99

A one-year subscription to QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024 is being promoted at $299.99, in a deal spotted by BleepingComputer. Steep desktop discounts get attention for two reasons: they are genuinely rare, and they are a favorite disguise for license scams. Here is what the offer amounts to, and what we would check before paying.

What is on offer?

The deal prices a one-year QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024 subscription at $299.99. Pro Plus is the subscription form of desktop Pro, paid for a year at a time. The listing does not say how long the price holds or what a second year costs, so treat both as open questions.

One rule holds for any promotion: the number shown at checkout is the number you pay. If the price on the order page differs from the advertised one, the promotion has likely lapsed, and paying anyway will not bring it back.

Is a discounted subscription safe to buy?

The product itself is the same one sold through ordinary channels. The risk sits with the seller, not the software. Counterfeit activation codes and “lifetime license” pitches for desktop QuickBooks are a recurring scam in the communities we follow, and a price far below every legitimate seller is the classic tell.

Discounted through a real seller is fine. Implausibly cheap from an unknown one is a warning.

Where should you buy?

Order through Intuit’s own store, or through a reseller you can verify as an authorized partner. Those are the vendor’s channels, not ours, and they are the ones that stand behind the code you receive.

Third-party marketplaces, auction listings, and unsolicited email offers are where invalid codes circulate most. If a listing cannot be traced to a business with a support contact and a returns policy, walk away.

Before you click buy

Match the product to your setup. Note the edition, the version year you run today, and how many people need access, then compare those against the deal page. If you already keep books in an older desktop release, your company file moves with you; the new version upgrades the file on first open.

Pay by credit card rather than bank transfer. A card leaves you a chargeback route if a code turns out to be invalid. Save the order confirmation and license details somewhere you can find them again, because you will want both if anything goes wrong later.

What happens when the discounted year ends?

Subscription pricing applies at renewal. The deal price is a first-year price unless the seller puts something different in writing, and nothing in the reporting establishes a year-two figure. Assume the standard rate applies then.

Set a reminder for a few weeks before the renewal date on the day you activate, while the date is still in front of you. That keeps the choice of renewing, canceling, or moving on your schedule instead of the subscription’s.
