QuickBooks Online Mexico Edition: Promo Prices End and Billing Reverts

Spanish-language QuickBooks Online users are finding promotional rates expire and monthly charges revert to the standard list price, per offer terms.

QuickBooks Online Mexico Edition: Promo Prices End and Billing Reverts

A community thread on the Spanish-language pages for QuickBooks Online, the edition aimed at Mexico, turned on a familiar irritation. Subscribers sign up at a discounted rate, the promotion ends, and the next charge lands higher. The accepted answer does not offer a fix, because nothing is broken. It restates the vendor’s offer terms, and those terms account for nearly every jump a subscriber is likely to see.

Why did the monthly charge go up?

The reports share a shape. A charge arrives that is larger than the one before it. The plan is unchanged, and no new feature has appeared. The subscriber goes looking for an error and finds a pricing schedule instead.

Promotional discounts apply from the moment of signup and sit on top of the monthly price of Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, or Advanced. The terms state that once the promotional period concludes, the current base monthly rate applies instead. The card on file is billed automatically each month until the subscriber cancels. The discount, in other words, is a schedule, not a permanent tier.

Cancellation is open at any time, on monthly and annual plans alike. It does not produce money back. A cancelling subscriber keeps access through the end of the period already paid for, and the terms frame that as the full remedy.

The trial ends with a card request

The first thirty days of a subscription are free, counted from the enrollment date. To keep working in the software past day thirty, the subscriber must supply a valid credit card for authorization. The service then charges the current monthly fee for whatever plan was chosen during signup. That fee is the one in force at the moment of conversion, not the one advertised when the account was created. The terms describe no separate warning beyond the card request, which is why evaluators get caught out.

Annual plans renew unless you cancel first

Annual billing offers a discount for paying twelve months upfront. The savings come with conditions worth knowing. Cancelling mid-term brings no refund, though full access continues through the remaining months. Unless the subscriber cancels ahead of time, the plan also renews itself at the twelve-month mark. The renewal uses the stored billing details and whatever the retail price happens to be that day.

Subscribers can move up or down between plans at any time, switching among Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. Intuit also reserves the right to change prices, features, support, and service at any time. Budgeting against a promotional number, in other words, carries built-in risk.

The 24-month discount has conditions

A separate, limited-time offer gives small businesses thirty percent off for the first twenty-four months on Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus. The catch is volume: it requires registering a minimum of two subscriptions under a single email address. It is open only to new customers and those still in the trial. Customers based in the United States are excluded, and the Advanced plan sits outside the offer.

Anyone weighing this against the standard monthly promotion faces a trade-off. The deeper discount lasts far longer, but it ties the account to multiple seats from day one.

Where this leaves subscribers

Our read of the accepted answer is that it is a map of the billing lifecycle, not a repair. The pattern it traces is consistent: a free month, a card requirement, a discounted stretch, then a reversion to list price with automatic charges until cancellation. Refunds never enter the picture. Access, however, does survive to the end of any paid period.

The practical moves follow from that map. Note when the promotional window closes, and expect the base rate on the following invoice. On an annual plan, set a reminder ahead of the renewal date. If the trial was only ever a test, cancel before day thirty rather than after the charge.

None of this is a defect in the software. It is pricing working exactly as written, which is what the accepted answer documents.
