ProAdvisor Academy sign-in snags and missing certification badges

Accountants report trouble reaching ProAdvisor Academy courses, missing Credly badges and CPE credits that never appear after migration.

COMMUNITY ISSUESQUICKBOOKY

Accountants who work in QuickBooks Online Accountant have a training hub built into the product, and most of the friction we hear about starts before anyone opens a course. The complaint is rarely the material itself. It is finding the academy, getting signed in without a second password, and then working out why a finished course has not produced a badge or a credit.

The academy sits inside QuickBooks, not outside it

The route matters. From the account you already use, open All Apps, choose ProAdvisor, then ProAdvisor training. Inside that area, select Training and then Start learning. The academy opens in a new browser tab and signs you in automatically, because the session is carried across from the QuickBooks account you are already using.

People who try to reach the training platform as a standalone destination, or who return to an address saved months earlier, often end up at a sign-in screen with no way through. Starting from inside the product is what makes the handoff work.

Badges arrive through Credly, and only after you accept them

Passing an exam is not the final step. Badges are issued on Credly, which is a separate profile from the QuickBooks account. Nothing shows there until you sign in to Credly and accept the badge. The email address on that profile should be the same one used for the certification. When the two addresses differ, a badge that has genuinely been issued can look as though it never arrived.

My Hub and the Certifications tab do different jobs

My Hub lists any enrollment you have already started and shows a progress bar counting the learning courses completed within it. The Certifications tab is where you move between the Foundation and Specialty programs on offer, and where Enroll or Continue learning opens the course details.

Testing out skips the course, not the CPE requirement

You can sit an exam immediately instead of working through the material, which is a legitimate shortcut for someone who already knows the content. What the shortcut does not do is earn continuing education credit. Credits come from completing the learning courses, so anyone counting credit hours has to take the longer path.

Finishing a course in Learn is not the same as enrolling

The Learn tab presents every course in alphabetical order, and completing something there does not grant a badge or a certification on its own. The enrollment is what makes the award. There is a useful consequence, though: if you finish the coursework first and enroll in the program afterwards, the badges and certifications are granted automatically. Order matters less than enrollment.

A failed section means the whole exam again

Exams are graded as a single unit. Fail one section and the entire exam has to be retaken, not just the portion that went wrong. Planning for one clean sitting is more efficient than treating sections as separable.

Credit earned before the move stays where it was

Credly reflects only the CPE credits earned through the academy in its current form. Credit accumulated before the migration to the present platform does not appear there, which surprises people who expect a complete lifetime record in one place.

Records that show courses you never took

A completion record for a course you have never opened cannot be cleared from the training menu. The vendor treats that as an account-level matter handled through its accountant support channel rather than something the user can correct on screen.

Points work on a similar logic. Under Benefits, the History view lists the activities that affect your total. If a certification lapses, the points earned when you first certified are lost with it. Recertifying while already certified adds nothing further.

What actually resolves it

Almost none of this traces back to a fault in the courses. The fixes are procedural: start the academy from inside the product so the session carries over, accept the badge in Credly under the matching address, enroll rather than merely complete, and expect a full retake after a failed section. Accountants who line those four steps up in order tend to find the training hub behaves exactly as advertised.
