Missing Consolidated Reports in Intuit Enterprise Suite: Admin Access Is the Fix
Users who cannot see consolidated reports across companies in Intuit Enterprise Suite need primary admin approval and access to at least two firms.
A quiet permissions rule in Intuit Enterprise Suite is leaving some multi-entity teams without the consolidated reports they expected. The suite is built to gather several companies under one dashboard, with consolidated reporting and intercompany tools included. When those reports fail to appear, the cause is settings, not a defect.
The symptom: a consolidated section that never shows up
The pattern reported in community threads is consistent. A user holds seats in two or more companies and opens the standard reports list. The consolidated section is not there, or the reports inside it will not open for that user. Nothing on screen explains the gap.
According to the accepted answer, the cause is simple. Consolidated view access is off by default, and the primary admin has to grant it. Until that happens, the section stays out of reach for everyone else.
Who can see consolidated reports?
Two conditions must hold before the reports appear. First, the user needs access to two or more companies inside the suite. Second, the primary admin must switch on consolidated view access for that user. Miss either one and the consolidated section remains invisible.
The confusion is understandable. A new user can hold seats in several companies and still lack the consolidated view.
The answer also names the roles that pair with these tools: standard all-access, reports view only, in-house accountant, and bookkeeper. Your admin can assign or adjust these while granting the access itself.
How does an admin turn on access?
The steps sit under user management, and they take only a few minutes.
- Sign in to the consolidated view with the primary admin account.
- Open Settings and select Manage users.
- Choose Edit beside the user who needs access.
- Add companies or update the roles assigned to that user.
- Select Manage consolidated view permissions.
- Set view, create, edit, and delete rights for list management and intercompany transactions.
- Select Continue to save the changes.
The permission screen separates list management from intercompany transactions. That split lets a firm widen viewing rights while keeping edits restricted. Nothing applies until the final Continue step, so finish the whole sequence.
Running a consolidated report once access is granted
With permissions in place, the reports themselves are simple to use.
- Open the Reports menu and choose Standard reports.
- Select any report in the Consolidated Reports section.
- Review the figures by company, by period, and by accounting method.
- Apply filters for company, shared dimension, or transaction origin.
The shared dimension filter deserves special mention. It applies one category across every company in the set, which is the point of consolidated review.
Which reports are in the consolidated section?
The set covers receivables, payables, vendor spend, and transaction detail.
- Consolidated A/R Aging Summary and Detail reports track customer invoices across all companies, grouped by aging period.
- Consolidated A/P Aging Summary and Detail reports do the same for bills owed to vendors.
- Consolidated Expenses by Vendor summarizes spend with each vendor across the group.
- Consolidated Transaction Journal details the debits and credits behind individual transactions.
None of these require hopping between companies; the whole set runs from one screen. Broader consolidated financial statements, eliminations, and journal entries are handled elsewhere in the same toolset.
Where do intercompany transactions fit in?
Intercompany activity gets its own home. Open the Accounting app and select the Intercompany Transactions tab. For any transaction linked to an invoice or bill, open its transaction journal. The underlying entry then appears for review.
These rights live under the consolidated view permissions described above. A user can run aging reports while still being blocked from intercompany detail. That keeps invoice and bill tracing in one window rather than several.
The takeaway
This one is a configuration matter, not a broken product. If the consolidated section is missing, two checks cover most cases: consolidated view access, and membership in at least two companies. Once an admin clears both, the section appears under standard reports. If further permission quirks surface in the suite, we will report them here.
