Firms Check Certification Status Ahead of the ProPartner Transition

Accounting firms can verify team certifications inside QuickBooks Online Accountant as the ProAdvisor program moves toward ProPartner Accountants.

Ahead of the shift from ProAdvisor to ProPartner Accountants, accounting firms are auditing one thing above all: who on the team holds a live certification. The answer shapes where a firm lands in the new structure. The check itself is quick, though the screens differ depending on how far your firm has moved through the transition.

The certification floor

One rule sits at the center of the change. A firm needs at least one actively certified team member to rise from the Member tier into Partner status and unlock the upper tier’s benefits. Four credentials count toward that floor: QuickBooks Online Level 1, QuickBooks Online Level 2, Payroll, and Intuit Enterprise Suite.

The word actively does real work in that requirement. A credential that has lapsed does not clear the bar, so firms are pulling up staff records now rather than after the switch. Member is the lower placement, and a firm with no current credential stays there regardless of size. Points still matter for placement, but no point total compensates for an empty certification column.

The preview page shows your projected tier

Start in the ProAdvisor section of your accountant account. A banner there flags the move to ProPartner Accountants and links to a preview page. Open that link before anything else.

Three numbers appear on the preview: your firm’s projected tier, its current point total, and the points still needed to reach the next tier. A comparison view sits alongside them. It lays out the benefits attached to each level, including expanded revenue share, dedicated customer support, and access to Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate.

Those benefits give the exercise its stakes. A firm one course away from a higher tier may want to close that gap early. The preview is where that gap shows up in plain figures. We suggest noting the numbers on the day you look, since they form a baseline for later comparison.

Two consoles, two paths

The rest of the work depends on which console your firm uses. Firms still running on QuickBooks Online Accountant follow one route. Firms that have migrated to Intuit Accountant Suite follow another. Both routes require a firm admin login, so arrange that access before you start.

Still on QuickBooks Online Accountant

Open Team from the left navigation and select the Certifications tab. The tab lists current credentials for everyone on staff. Gaps show up at a glance, which is the point of the visit.

To enroll someone in training, choose ProAdvisor from the left navigation, then Training. Selecting Start learning signs you into the ProAdvisor Academy in a new tab automatically. From the My Hub page, open the Programs tab. That list holds the certification programs on offer, each with an Enroll option.

Migrated to Intuit Accountant Suite

Training records live under the Firm hub menu. Hover over Firm hub, then over ProAdvisor, and select Manage training.

The dashboard lists every team member linked to your firm console. For each person it shows the name, programs completed, programs in progress, courses completed, and courses in progress. It is the fuller of the two views. A missing name usually means the member is not linked to the console, and that link is worth fixing early.

A second item, ProAdvisor training under the same Firm hub path, covers the learning side. A short questionnaire there proposes a plan and feature set matched to the firm.

Notes worth keeping in mind

We would flag three practical points. First, only a firm admin can see the full picture, so hand the review to that person if it is not you. Second, the suite dashboard reflects just the staff linked to your console, so study done under a personal login may not surface. Third, point totals and projected tiers move as courses finish, so revisit the preview after any completion.

None of this needs a support call. Every screen sits inside the account your firm already uses, and the whole review takes an admin one short sitting.
